Community Connections

We are excited to introduce the Community Connections program that fosters opportunities for socialization and interaction for program participants. The goal of the Community Connections program is to identify individuals who would benefit from such activities and pair them with a community connector.

How does it work?

Connectors will be asked to participate in the program for a minimum of three months.  We ask that they meet two times a month for at least 30 minutes per visit.  It is your choice what you do during this time. Some play a game, do a craft, look at magazines or simply enjoy each other’s company.  Visits take place at a Community Support Systems property (day program site or group home in the evening).  Restaurants or coffee shops are possible with prior approval from supervisors.

I would LOVE to be a Community Connector! Now what?

Interested in building a friendship with someone from CSS?  Contact CSS today to apply for this rewarding experience!  Each connector will undergo a background check and attend orientation prior to the first visit. Questionnaires completed by both connectors will assist us in pairing up new friends. Contact us at 217.718.3665 or by email at lsiemer@csscares.org.

It is our hope that Community Connections will help broaden social circles by building a lasting friendship with our community connectors.
